Software Freedom Day 2011

Join us all day on September 24th for Software Freedom Day 2011. We'll be in the plaza of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library's Headquarters branch (link to map) giving away free and open source software and demonstrating some of its many powerful and useful features. Experts will be on hand to answer questions, and you can take the software for a spin while you're there. The event will last from 9:30am-4:00pm, and you can stop by anytime you like.

Once you've seen how good it is, you can even have a free disc filled with trusted, professional-quality open source software you can try for yourself. Free and open source software is a sort of freedom software that gives you all the power of expensive commercial software, but at zero cost. It's written by experts who enjoy sharing software just like cooks enjoy sharing and talking about recipes. The software is 100% free of viruses and spyware. It's not only safe, it's fun to use, and it costs nothing.

Free software has changed the entire world over the last decade, and is now relied on by banks and stock exchanges, military and government agencies, business of all sizes, and millions of home users. Free your computer today by learning and trying some free software!
